Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.
Oscar Wilde

Chariots of Fire

A few days ago I slipped out of the office to run a quick errand for my bestie.

I work right in the middle of this beautiful city of Nairobi and trust me this is where the magic happens. So I finish running my errand and briskly walk back towards the office (just in case my boss is watching) least I look like I don’t have some focus. I cross Wabera Street and head towards our office building which is right next to Trattoria Restaurant. Seconds before I enter the building two motor bikes zoom passed me hooting as the rider screams “uuuuuuuwwwwwwii!” next thing sirens rent the air and then this mammoth crowd comes running towards me as a cloud of smoke swells up behind them.

In a split second I become part of the “greatest” marathon ever “The tear gas race.”

" The adrenaline was rushing through my veins and all I could see ahead was the yellow finish line and I knew my dreams had come true. Million dollar endorsements deals from Nike, Reebok or maybe the face of Monster Energy drink, the paparazzi following me everywhere, right there  I knew this was it. There was not a single soul within a hundred meters in sight as the  Chariots of Fire sound track glared through the stadium speakers admits the crowd chanting my name “ALAKA ALAKA ALAKA!!!!” I burst through the yellow  finish line torso first..……….."

Hold up Hold up!!!!  "Can somebody tell me why we are running?"..…Then coughing started and it just would not stop .The darn tear gas had caught up with. It was chocking me out of my dreams and I could not help but shed “tears” because of all the sneezing and the persistent irritating feeling in my throat and nose from the  chilly/pepper they put in those canisters.

When reality checked in I realized I  had ran the down Mama Ngina street up to The Hilton Hotel. Screaming and hooting replaced the Chariots of Fire track playing in the background, no more crowds chanting, just me panting so hard my lungs felt like they were going to burst out my chest. I straighten my three piece suit and walked away (of couse in the opposite direction least somebody recognizes me) like nothing had happened towards the office.

I knew was built for gold medals but why my mother thought I would make a good lawyer I just do not understand.

So apparently the motorbike operators were having a scuffle with the City Council askaris who were  operating illegally within the Central Business District. In their wisdom or luck thereof they took the protest to City Hall with an aim of having a word with the Governor. The protestors became so rowdy the Police had to disperse the crowd with tear gas and lil’ol me got caught in the middle.

“Man I can run” …..Pamela Jelimo got nothing on me! This was the highlight of my week  ladies and gentlemen please feel free to share if yours was more dramatic than mine.

Now to matters fashion.  I am slowly getting accustomed to my bangs. I like them short because its simple to wake up and style on crazy days such as these.

I love this over sized yellow jacket that I got at Toi Market for Ksh 100. (such a steal right?) It gives any outfit life, color and love trust me! So amazing. This neck piece mmmmh!!! I just keep reaching for it even though I have picked something else...Thou shall not judge me!

Nothing streams versatility like an ombre top. Its one color that blends into another gotta love it alright. I paired with some black harem pants and the wedges to add a little twist.

Pant Suit

It seems like the Pant Suit is imminent.
Hey everybody!
It's a style female politicos have rocked for years. Slim fitting and elegant, yet professional, the pant suit is a crucial part of any high-powered female's wardrobe.

Even celebs are trading in their classy gowns for pantsuits on the red carpet. To think that my daily courtroom attire would be a classic with the high and mighty just makes my day. Its a very "formal" look that one can spin by adding heavy jewellery or trading in the traditional black for a eye-catching color. You should definitely be caught dead in a pant suit trust me they look hot!

Stay Classy!
