....Birthday Wish List....

Tomorrow is my Birthday.
Hey everybody. Its been one hell of a year I must say. When my year started there were so many uncertainties in my life. I was just fresh out of Kenya School of Law and doing my pupillage which was just about to come to an end. I had not guarantee that the law firm I was working at would retain me or I would have to go start the job hunt all over again. Well I eventually go admitted to the bar and I got retained by the law firm I was working at. Four years of campus and one and half years of law school and pupillage finally paid of. That was the highlight of my year Ladies and Gentlemen

I have had all kinds of experiences this year but my greatest lesson is that "Life is not a race". I believe that God in his infinite wisdom set everybody in their own paths or call it destiny. At any given time there is always somebody who is going to be driving a better car, or living in a better house, or spotting a new hot phone and there is always somebody who just got fired from their job or has dropped out of school or has been kicked out of their home.....so comparing yourself only breeds contempt. Always be grateful for what you have

I have also learnt that people will always leave. This maybe through death or their story in your life is over therefore when they are around treat them right, tell them how much they mean to you and most importantly do right by them. I seldom believe in second chances because once trust is broken it is very hard to regain it. 

Enough of that....Well I put together a few things that are my birthday wish list. Please feel obligated to get me anything you see here I will be forever grateful.Check them out!.

For the bravehearted

My people my people it is freezing out here in the good city of Nairobi. The temperatures keep getting lower with each waking moment. I hope your keeping warm because some cold gone catch up with you and we don't want that now don't we.

The Kenyan news scene lately has been marred with such sad public interest stories and one particular one that stood out for me was the Lady who hired a hit squad to kill her husband because he has absconded his paternal duties and taken to alcohol and women.

 A friend posted this "of the woman who tried to kill her hubby and totally got busted..eeerm why didn't she just walk away?? really??" on Facebook. I commented "easier said than done..." This update right here got me thinking that not everything especially relationships that are broken can be fixed. Some have just run their course and when one realizes that they move on.

 I believe that moving on is not for the cowardly but for the bravehearted. It involves a lot of faith that you would rather live without that person just for the sake of sanity and in this woman's case for the sake of her children. To chatter  into unknown territory is the most difficult thing to do but sometimes the most rewarding. Change is inevitable but good for the soul. 

Enough of that though. Somebody say Green!!! I am so totally digging the greens this month.

Prom

Every girl wishes they had a Cinderella moment just once in their lifetime.....well thank God for PROM because it is in every way magical. Meet Wanja everybody she is my cousin who just the other day I carried around because she was a tiny little baby but Ooooooh before you know it they are sneaking boys through their bedroom windows (she gone kill me for saying this) but Ooooh well! Wanja graduated on Friday and she got to have what many girls only get to  watch in the movies....she got to go for Prom!!!! *clapping my hands excitedly* I asked Wanja if I could share with you guys her Cinderella moment  and she graciously obliged

Wanja wore this pretty glass slippers and this elegant  purple bridal gown that made her look like the princess she is totally outshining her friends if you ask me. Her hair was pulled up in a classic up do that made her look like royalty. I will say no more have a look!

.....Its Birthday Month......

Its Birthday day month everybody. 
I know I have been silent but it has been one hell of a crazy crazy month! Its my birthday at  the end of the month and I am will be compiling my birthday wish list and y'all will be very much part of it. I am back and this time its to stay. Well I came across this poem by Dr. Maya Angelou and I thought to myself what better way to begin my favorite month.

My bestie Ninah and I attended a wedding over the weekend and we decided to bring it! This dress is actually tailor made as I got the fabric from Nigeria! My bestie on the other hand is wearing a pretty animal print skirt which I so wanted to steal and a classic black peplum top and the those sexy peep toes which are to die for but nothing fits....lucky girl. Yes people that was just a taste of what you are about to see this month so strap your sit belts of and lets get red to ramble!!!!
