The Jump Suit.

 Photography by: Wamwiri Kimachia

I finally found a jump suit that feels right!

A very good afternoon people.

I do hope your week is coming along great. On Monday I bumped into an old school mate and the usual small talk ensued. I am sure you're wondering eeeeh what is the point of this conversation. Well off late I find it so hard to engage in the "proverbial small talk" most especially to people I do not interact with every so often. Have I become a snob or am I just comfortable and thriving in the silence?

Truth, I am morphing and I like it very much. Clarity is important as I "age" and I am not fighting the urge to just be.

This jumpsuit has got to be one of the most comfortable items in my very "small" wardrobe. I paired it up with these very comfortable animal print/ spiked heels that my mother wanted to know the thought process behind owing a pair hehehe! Don't you just love Mothers.

I threw on the signature black floppy hat that just turned this outfit around and my favorite yellow oversize blazer and vuaaaaallllaaaah we have a winner. What do you think?

I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.” -Audrey Hepburn

Denim to Dots.

Just when I think I am going about my life aka window shopping over my lunch hour like every other invisible person this very nice lady stops me and says "Hey..... I like your blog!" and I smile and say thank you.

To that very nice lady, you made my day more so because just like any tough day a simple statement makes it all worth the while.

Hey everybody!

I am sure your keeping well and coping with the bustle.

Don't you just love denim with everything? I paired it up with those cute red sandals and this lovely A-line black polka dotish skirt which is a statement piece and you should all own one.

I paired these very comfortable white pants with this loose fitting neon top and mashed it up with nude heels and there on a bunch of color in for of the watch and the those colored bands to get a simple and clean look.

It is a lovely new month and I have nothing but gratitude. While I was playing dress up the idea  to combine the boots with the not so long dress occurred to me.

Tell me people what do you think?

Products Galore.

If I could get paid  to chill on the sofa and catch up on some Empire and droll over Cookie's wardrobe my life would be so different.

Hello there lovely people.

I have finally decided I trade off my treasured secrets in form of the products that I have been using for sometime now.

Disclaimer: The reviews below are personal and you might need to do a bit more research to find out what works  for you!

1.Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Face Wash

This deep pore cleansing wash  has sea minerals to draw out toxins, and aloe vera to heal and nourish the skin. I felt this must be a product which would keep both of my skin’s “personalities” happy and so far, I think I’m right.

This soothing gel treatment which is 100% organic and packed with an impressive list of bio-active
ingredients including: dead sea mineral salt ,aloe vera juice, bladder wrack extract, orange fruit oil, pine needle oil, thyme flower oil, spearmint oil and vitamin C.

Despite being free of any sort of forming agent, the wash foams up very well with warm water, meaning only a small amount is needed to be used and after patting my face dry, a clean feeling remains. After four months of use I can safely say I have found a kind of facial equilibrium.

This product can be found at Super Cosmetics or your local beauty shop.

2. Dr. Organic Bio Active Skin Care Organic Vitamin E Super Hydrating Cream.

Before stumbling on to these range of products my skin needed a lot of work. Nothing seemed to work. It was extremely dry and had patches of white blemish all over.

This bio-active Vitamin E cream is an intensive super hydrating emollient, safe to use on:
 • Very dry skin • Sun exposed skin • Dehydrated skin • Aging skin.

The cream is a rich absorbent moisturizer, formulated to penetrate deep into the skin’s epidermal layer to instantly hydrate and restore, leaving the skin radiant, rejuvenated and intensely moisturized. The first few weeks after purchase I used it as a day and night cream and boy did I see a difference.

This product consists of a pure white thick cream which once spread on the palms of my hands looks and feels slightly oily but ‘instantly’ absorbs, yes it’s very fast. I can use it and then type in practically no time at all without leaving grease stains or feeling sticky. This is an excellent quality for daily use. For those wearing make up a thin layer will suffice and dries quick enough to wear foundation or powder over it without it interfering and making lines/runs, blobs or pushing up dry skin.

 3. Clean and Clear Facial Cleansing Bar.

I will be very candid with you. I like my make up on point but the hustle of removing it can be so cumbersome hence the cleansing bar.

I rub the bar soap onto a face towel and as I shower I wash my face gently removing all of the make up. Trust me this helps as it take me 2 minutes max and all the impurities and the make up is gone.

4.Eden Apricot Facial and Body Scrub.

I have used this product for over five years now and trust me there is no looking back. The natural fibers remove all the dead skin and the black heads on the entire body.

My take is use it once every week or two depending on your level of exposure to the sun as it can have a drying effect on your face and body if used too often.

5. Black Opal True Stick Color Stick Foundation S.P.F 15.

I don't know about you but my search for the perfect foundation has totally come to an end. This cream foundation housed in a stick covers all my problem areas and gives me a matte finish.

This Broad-Spectrum SPF15, hypoallergenic formula protects skin from UVA/UVB damage. It delivers the maximum coverage for perfect, even skin tone. It won't clog pores and blends smoothly to give you the flawless face you've always wanted and it is fragrance-free.

6. Make Up Brush Set.

This has got to be the best investment I have made over time. I am not a professional make up artist but after scowering the Internet it dawned on me that I need some few tools to up my game.

These brushes get me from zero to flawless in 15 minutes and I have gotten better with my application by the day.

They do require cleaning which is done every two weeks buy running them in lukewarm water then soaking them in warm water with shampoo for 30 minutes to1 hour tops. I then remove them from the shampoo water and gently squeeze out the remaining make up residue under running water  and leave them to dry on a towel.

7. Sleek Water Proof Mascara.

My lashes grow in all sorts of directions so finding something that will give them form and add volume is a win for me.

One coat application and it drys instantly. Love it!

8. Sleek Pout Polish.

My dear sister introduced this product to me and I was sold. The Raspberry Rhapsody smells so good makes my lips moist and very mailable.

9. Mac Ruby Woo.

This ladies and gentlemen is the lipstick of the year.

It brings everything stylish and chic to every outfit and the bright matte finish just makes you wanna pout all day.

A killer red lip is a game changer.

10. Jordana Smoky Eyeliner.

You gotta have this for the perfect smoky eye night out.

11.Dark and Lovely Amla Legend Scalp Serum

"Billion Hair Portion"

Amla oil is a natural substance often used to promote hair health. It contains number of essential fatty acids, that strengthen the hair follicles and conditions the hair and can also help treat a dry and itchy scalp.

I just got this product recently and my first impression was the the beautiful scent. I am yet to use it over a long period of time to give any concrete review but you could get it and go the billion hair journey with me.

12. Profective Root Recovery Temple Moisturant Anti Damage Hair Moisturizing Balm.

This has to be the product of the year for me. I started using this early last mainly along the hair line and on my scalp and it has worked magic. I also opted for protective hair styles that did not involve a lot of stress on the hair line and  my hair does thank me immensely.

The vitamin based formula is good when you have your braids, weaves and extensions on. I assure you I shall be using this for a long while!

13. Play for Her by Givenchy.

This bold seductive scent is captivating yet subtle at the same time.It turns heads and gives one a audience and lingers in the air long after you have left.

Looking for a signature scent this is it.

14. Forever Red Vanilla Rum.

Bath and Body Works

Imagine Vanilla and a hint of some "sweet" rough like rum extracts. This scent combines both extracts unusually well. It is very strong and definitely tells a story.

That's it for now folks.

Lace the Stripes.

It is possible to have everything you want but not all at the same time.

A friend told me these words a couple of weeks ago and I was completely blown away.It is human nature to feel the need to question your existence when the window of the Range Rove next to the matatu your in is rolled down and the person in it is almost your age. Jeeezz Lord was it that obvious that you passed me by?

Then during my morning devotion I stumbled onto these words by T.D.Jakes;

"In order to strive lawfully our efforts must be tailored after the pattern of divine purpose. Everyone is already blessed. We often spend hours in prayer trying to convince God that He should bless what we are praying to accomplish. What we need to do is spend hours in prayer for God to reveal His purpose. When we do what God has ordained to be done, we are blessed because God's plan is already blessed. Perhaps you have known times of frustration. Most of us at one time or another have found ourselves wrestling to birth an idea that was conceived in the womb of the human mind as opposed to the divine. For myself i have learned that God will not be manipulated. If He said it, that settles it. No amount of praying through parched lips and tear- stained eyes will cause God to revert what He knows is best for you"

Find peace at whatever stage you are in in your life. Savor the moments and purpose to live entirely in the present because worry makes you anxious of the future and you miss out on the little milestones that the now has got to offer.

I am slightly obsessed with monochrome. Okay truth, I am very obsessed with monochrome. I see it as a design piece in my bedroom, as the background for my teal sofas, as the skirt I want to rock all day long.

The lace top just presented enough elegance to finish the look and the red bottoms really brought their A-game huh!

A Steward of The Smallness

I love the smell of a New Year pregnant with promise and opportunities and a chance for you to start over. A chance to actually write that book you have always wanted to write, a chance to drop a dress size, a chance to go back to blogging like me who has absconded this duty for a
while.

The year that was has been full of bitter sweet lessons and blessings alike.

On taking stock I realized that the most important lesson of them all is the ability to bounce back. It is easier to swim in the mud and have a pity party and go around feeling like fate robbed you the chance of a life-time. Even as your are conscious of the sunken feeling at the pit of your stomach save some energy to swim out of the mud.

So many things have gone wrong and so many things have gone right and I choose to focus on the positives.

I have purposed to set monthly goals which have been broken down to weekly goals that way I can celebrate every end of the month for the weekly achievements.

I have purposed to be faithful with the little things and be a steward of the smallness.

I have purposed to start now. Start where I am . Start with fear. Start with pain.Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don't stop. Start where you are, with what you have.

I have purposed to Just Start.
