Skirts and Roses.

I am officially a day behind thanks to the public holiday on Monday, but ooh well the rest was appreciated.

Wa gwan all ye followers!

I know I know...you know that song you listen to first thing in the morning it was a reggae song and I have been humming in that big chune throughout the day.

I am totally confused about Bruce Jenner. I watched his initial interview with Diane Sawyer like a month ago and it was a grueling 45 minutes because I felt pity for this human being. Here is a man who was a celebrated triathlon winner, married three times and has seven children and he has been living a lie. I could not wrap my head around it all. I am very open and liberal minded and trying hard not to judge him but what is the world coming too?

You know those dresses you see on the red carpet... those dresses that are not ordinarily worn to brunch, the ones the designers send to you with a price tag one, Yes? Well that is how I feel about the skirt worn right here!

It is made of some hard fabric that has been dipped in starch trust me it stays in that Marilyn Monroe position forever!

I paired it with a purple to bring out the pretty flowers and some killer flats from Zara that I have been obsessing over for months.

Boots and Heels.

Don't you just love those army boots. They are so rocking.

Hey there everybody! How you doing? *insert Wendy Williams voice*

It is a lovely new month and I have nothing but gratitude. While I was playing dress up the idea  to combine the boots with the not so long dress occurred to me.

Tell me people what do you think?

Snow on Pink

Let's just skip  to the part where I apologize for going M.I.A and say that life handed me lemons in form of a crazy  job and I reached for the Tequila and salt and now I am nursing a serious hangie but almost out of it.

Happy Easter people!!

I am back maybe with a bang and I will let you be the judge of that.

I love the color white. (Yes for the record I will still follow a guy dressed in all white down the street)

I got this white peplum top awhile ago and as I was going through "our wardrobes" read (My wardrobe and my sisters, did I say thank God from sisters), I digress, I was like I think I should do a little something with this snow white top.So for the next couple of days I shall show you  how to werk this top into different looks.

On to my first look!

As I was picking out this outfit, I figured a little matchy matchy would not hurt anybody. Hence the pink belt and the pink skirt and the nude bag and nude shoe.

Chome on Yellow

Its me again blabbing about God knows what, but hey y'all still here reading this so it must mean what? "I am awesome!!!"

I am most definitely my number one fan. I learnt this from an early age that you gotta pat yourself on the back every so often and tell yourself that your super awesome.

I call it "The power of speaking life, good health and prosperity" into your own life.

Sometimes people are too busy with the hustle and bustle of life to stop and compliment you on whatever your doing but since you know how far you have come you just need to do it for youself.

It does pretty good number on your self esteem and gives you life juice to keep going.

I found this stripped top while I was cleaning out my closet. (sale will be going up soon).

Y'all know I am a sucker for black and white. I am potential rehab material when it comes to monochrome, It is bad.

Well I paired it up with with white pants. White happens to be one of my favorite colors. It's so bad that I can follow a guy down the street if he is dressed in all white, you know the ( white muscle shirt and white line pants and white loafers kind or the Tall "Abdi" in a  Sparkling white kanzu ) yeah those ones.

I wore a thrifted yellow blazer which I folded the long sleeves of the top over the blazer's arms to make sort of a boyfriend jacket look and threw on the nude bag and shoes to finish the simple look.

Fresh and New

I am back
I know I have overstayed my Christmas break but yeah yeah, I woke up and it was February... how about that! I was having a total bloggers burnout. I needed the much deserved break from all this. Well we are back and we are bigger and better.

Mocha Chica is one year this month.

What better way to say Happy Birthday than to "remodel".

Whilst I bumming, I discovered the reason I have not mojo to blog is because my blog just looks so plain and simple. Something that brings me so much joy was sucking the life out of me. So I changed it up a bit. A tweak there, some re branding here, some color in all the right places. I must admit the art director did  a really really good partly because he is very talented. His work sells. So if you ever need something artsy halla at me a ma hook you up.

As I was putting together this outfit I realized  how much my style has grown. There is much in my closet that I do not wear and I shall be clearing out and having a super sale so that y'all have a piece of me wherever you go hehehe!

I am loving the A-line things. They twirl and they are ooooh so girly. The heels are my best buy this year.(okay up until I get something else you know me). I know it has been two months but that is so far along in the year. They are Zara inspired and on this season of Single Ladies Lisa Raye killed it in this babies. The dots, the huge polkas just make the world go round literally.

Pink Sunday.

On Friday I was having coffee with my girlfriend and you know what she told me "Alaka, your so cynical about love it's not even funny!" That hit home really hard.

I am a hopeless romantic okay maybe its down to 23% ....Do I look at couples walking down the street holding hands and I feel a little puke swelling up in my mouth.....(is there hope for me to be saved yes, no, maybe go figure!) ..... Lets leave that to the gods of romance and a story for another day.

Its taken a heartbreak or two to make me realize that I am solely responsible for my own happiness and here is what makes me burst with joy....That one day I shall be the proud owner of a restaurant. I dream of how the place shall look like constantly...I picture my staff milling around like bees taking orders draped in black and silver and the air is filled with chatter, laughter, wine and music all fused into one.

Forgive me Ladies and Gentlemen if this dream has nothing to do with a "doting prince charming" but its the cold hard truth.

I know some of you reading this have their biological clocks ticking so loud as if it is stuck on your forehead but level with me for a minute. Is meeting "prince charming at 22years, dating for two years  then walking down the aisle then having five babies and now she is so intertwined in her husband's destiny she has lost herself in the marriage" every girl's story?  Think about it..... Should I be judged so harshly  by society if for a moment there I have a "maybe I can do this thing called life on my own" or maybe its  the greatest  and  only self actualization moment  life ever hands you?

October is here with us once again and its time to get our boobies checked. A lot of emphasis is placed upon the ladies yet guys also get breast cancer. The cases have increased over the past couple of years and its alarming. So tag your brother, your father, your cousin or any man in your life  and get tested- you never know it could save his life.

 The joys of motherhood.

This look was so simple and easy to put together. I have had this top for ages but it just did not seem to fit right with the pants I picked out. Don't you just love your sisters...borrowed the skirt from her wardrobe and I forgot to say oops Joyce (Please may I borrow your skirt) hehehehe is it too late to redeem myself! Oh well....I paired it up with this nude sandals to bring out this sophisticated chic look.

I dedicate this post to all the people out there suffering from cancer related ailments and most especially all cancer victors.
