Nairobi Fashion Market 2014

My people my people. I have missed you so much walalalalala!!

I have been keeping well, busy with work but as always keeping you peeps in mind. The lovely girls and I were able to attend the Nairobi Fashion Market  last weekend and I must admitted I was not as enthusiastic considering the last one was a total absolute let down.

That is the good thing about not having any exceptions because my oh my!!! did we shop. I got some really cool buys and my fave was this skirt that was sent from heaven. I shall be styling it soon. Many ladies ask me where and how I shop, I wish I had tagged you all along. Nelly of Nairobi's Fashion Geek check out her blog (love this girl) were just screaming from stall after stall.

This happens to be the best picture of the day. Selfie with a Canon  beat that Mutua Matheka hehehe!!

I am that girl who wears a dress and ngomas ( as my mother calls them!)

This dress I found at "priced to go"section of Mr. Price in town. Yeah believe it or not it was a steal. I paired it up with converse and hang a small tiny blue sling bag to go. Tip: I love my accessories but this dress had so much going with the floral print so I figured a watch and some dangling earrings and I was good to go "hunting."
Always keep it simple.

Talk about pushing the envelope with this shoe! Its bold and it has spikes. I think it looks lovely on the display.

Party Pastels

It's December baby and I can smell the festivities in the air.

Welcome home all you summer bunnies..time to party like rock stars.

The past week has been nothing less than a whirlwind of activities and drama to say the least. Most of you know that I am very cynical and most times radical about this thing called love. Well I was slowly weaning out of that hell hole when the inevitable happened.

I think some people as my mother would say "do not know a good thing even if it hit them on the face." The events swelling up to this post have made me conclude that some individuals thrive in misery. They are so used to being angry, annoyed and miserable that when a good thing comes along they do everything in there power to spoil it. They need Jesus or whomever they consider divine in their lives. This life is too fleeting to endure  pain that is brought about by lack of mere self control.

Ladies in Gentlemen nobody likes being taken for granted. Nobody likes being treated like a fool, used, abused and then discarded like trash. Any normal human being once they discover your playing them they go into self preservation mode and I assure you shall receive the full wrath of God ask the Egyptians.

I beseech you brethren do right by others because due to the harsh economic times the days of a thief are no longer forty but twelve, consider yourselves duly warned.

In other fashionable news, Friday is such a lovely day to have a wedding. I attended one and I can tell you it was a small and intimate and so fabulous it moved me to the realization that I have never pictured myself in a wedding dress...yes that's just me!

I wore this dress the first time here and I think this time I nailed it. It was a bit chilly so I put on a small vintage  coat that I got from my Aunt's old clothes to bring out the florals on this beautiful dress. I paired it with some nude sandals  to go which are giving some serious competition to my red ones!

Dr. Ofweneke made the perfect M.C as he is super hilarious and says all the embarrassing things you are thinking. I loved him!

Orange Is the New Black

Helllllllllllllooooooooooooo Everybody!

I know ya'll want to throw shoes at me...but ooooooh well do hurl them... I came prepared in my anti/space shoe hurling suit. I have been been busy with matters education namely exams but now they are over and I am BACK!!!!

The fashion world has been buzzing with a lot of things and boy you go away for a while and you come back and our very own Lupita Nyong'o is causing airwaves in the fashion scene. Check out some of her looks on the page Mocha Chica.  Kim K has gone blonde how about that...I guess mother hood does indeed change people huh! Well the highlight of it all is Beyonce's Ex Boyfriend trying to steal some of her much coveted limelight by coming out of the wood works claiming he is sorry for cheating on her not once not twice but FIVE TIMES.... as she says in her song " Best Thing I Never Had".... “So sad, you’re hurt, Boohoo, oh, did you expect me to care?” and “I thank God I dodged a bullet, I’m so over you, So, baby, good lookin’ out” were written specifically with Lyndell in mind. Ouch!

I am so happy the sun is back. I can now start wearing my dresses and my skirts. My OOTD was inspired by the little milestones in my life. Its almost the end of the year and I have achieved so much I cannot begin to imagine how far I have come. I may not be where I want but hell I am not where I started trust me.

Off late I have found myself pulling clothes out of my wardrobe that are bright and colorful and floral. Yes when you want to be happy the world sometimes conspires to give you happiness and mine is showing in what I have been wearing.
